Reverse Cowgirl (T-Pain ft. Young Jeezy)

I wasn't gonna say nothin but....

(Wanted to post the song but looks like BLOGGER won't let me, sorry if you wanted to hear it)

Figured I would review this song wit ya'll...just to get my thoughts out while they were still fresh.

Initial Reaction: Hilarious

So "Reverse Cowgirl" is supposedly the first single from T-Pain's up coming album "revolver" From the jump, the song reminds me of J. Holidays "it Is Yours," being very synth heavy and smooth. Then of course, T-Pain shows up, Teddy Pain, T-Pizzle, whatever you wanna call him. Never missing a step with the auto-tune to cover his tone deaf voice. From the beginning I get the feeling that Teddy pizzlegrass' days are numbered. He started a revolution in hip hop and R&B with his overuse of Autotune and now he seems to have no place in it. He seems...out of place almost. Like he had nothing to do with it.

I found myself listening to the first verse like a common "radio head" and all i could think was "I like the beat..." For some reason, I just couldn't take him serious this time...not that I ever really could. But this time, somethin was just different, like he ran out of good ideas.

The tempo of the song is somewhere between slow jam and club banger. On his previous albums, I actually enjoyed his slow jams and he had some really good ideas. Of course as always, the beats helped out a lot, but not as much on this song. This song fell to the same formula as most songs of this age do...a hot beat and a catchy hook.

The hook is probably the best part of this track, as it was the only part I could actually get into. But even the hook was somewhat comical. T-Prigga's lyrics go "I like how you do it/Just put it in reverse cow girl/giddy-up, giddy up!" Which had me CRACKIN UP. and to add just a little more comedy...he continues to say "...put your hands in the air/wave 'em round and go YEEEEHAAAAAAA!" After those lyrics...I was done and ready for Jeezy. Nothing to special to say about Jeezy's verse. He represented full swag as usual. as for the content of the verse, somewhat simple. But what can you expect from a song called "Reverse Cowgirl?" Its hard to go too in-depth about a topic like that.

I know I said a whole lot about such a simple song, but I just couldn't believe he even tried a song like this. I probably shouldn't have been surprised though. He DID make a song dedicated to a woman's stomach. Overall, the song will probably get some play in the clubs (probably the strip clubs), but I'm not sure about radio play. Maybe they can play it after Trigga Songz "I Invented Sex."
